  • If you are a victim or know someone who is a victim of cyberbullying or cyberstalking...

    • Do not attempt to deal with it on our own - tell a trusted adult.
    • Do not reply to the messages.
    • Block the sender’s messages.
    • Do not delete the messages. Save them to use as evidence. Show a trusted adult.
    • Do not open messages from unknown sources.
    • Contact your service provider.
    • Have your parents contact the school to gain their support and assistance.
    • Report all incidents of a criminal nature, for example, threats to your safety to the police immediately.
    • Protect your privacy - never give out personal information such as your name, address, phone number, password, photos of yourself ,etc.

     

    Are you a cyberbully? Ask yourself the following questions:

    • Why do you think you choose to hurt others?
    • How would you feel if someone cyberbullied you or one of your friends?
    • If an investigation occurs, and your identity is revealed, how will people who care about you feel about your actions?
    • Are you aware that some cases of cyberbullying are against the law?
