Canadian-based resources are highlighted with

The report forms the basis of this web-based document. Professionals in the fields of education, law and the broader community will find this thorough document very useful.   

Common Sense Urged over 'Zero Tolerance The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (Washington, DC) resoundingly criticizes the use of zero tolerance policies in sexual harassment cases. This article from  the Education Report calls for  the use of discretion and common sense by school administrators.   

The Dark Side of Zero Tolerance: Can Punishment Lead to Safe Schools? Skiba and Peterson (1999) provide a thought provoking critique of zero tolerance policies in this on-line discussion.
