Media, Stereotypes and the Perpetuation of Racism in Canada This is an academic paper written by a graduate student at the University of Saskatchewan. It examines the influence of media on perpetuating racism in Canada.  

"Responding to Hate at School: A Guide for Teachers, Counselors and Administrators"  is an excellent resource guide. In a comprehensive manner, it offers practical strategies to promote tolerance in schools.  

Understanding Racism School administrators and teachers will find this comprehensive site from Australia highly useful. It reviews research on the problem of racism in schools, examines the attitudes of teachers and students, discusses the effects of racism in schools, and highlights the importance of developing a respectful school climate and positive school community relations.  

Teaching Tolerance: Friends & Mentors is a useful site for teachers, parents and students. For example, it suggests tools for promoting tolerance and ways to fight hate.

Maple LeafChoose Your Voice (CYV) has now reached over 1.2 million Canadian students, empowering them to speak out against racism, antisemitism and discrimination of all forms.   This program will help everyone to be part of making their classrooms, their communities, and our nation a better place for all. The four lessons for grades 6 – 9 students are extremely easy to use, and the DVD provides an outstanding collection of vignettes that will educate and inspire.
